"Follow Me Home"

Follow Me Home
(1997, 140 min.) US
Director: Peter Bratt (Quechua)
Co-Executive Producer: Gary Rhine
Actors: Benjamin Bratt (Quechua), Alfre Woodard, Jesse Borrego, Calvin Levels, and Steve Reevis (Blackfeet)

Four L.A. artists set out on a quest to paint the White House in rainbow colors, resonant with the multi-colors of their band—African-American, Chicano, and American Indian—and with the diverse incentives each carries. The film expressively portrays the dreams of the group's leader Tudee. A chance encounter with Civil War "re-enactors" intensifies into danger, and the deeper meaning of the dreaming affects the outcome.

Awards

Peter Bratt won the Best Director for this film at the American Indian Film Festival, and it was featured at the Sundance Film Festival.
