"The Ride"

"The Ride"The Ride
(2003, 93 min.) US
Director: Nathan Kurosawa

California surfing star Dave Morton has lost what it takes to achieve greatness. When he wipes out on a giant wave, he awakens on Waikiki Beach to discover that the year is 1911. In the time-warp he is befriended by Duke (Duke Paoa Kahanamoku, Olympic swimmer and the inventor of modern surfing). As Dave encourages Duke he rediscovers within himself the true spirit of the sport.
