Franklin Quizhpe

Franklin QuizhpeJosé Alfredo Jiménez (Tsotzil) began to train as a reporter in 2002 and a video producer in 2005 with the Red de Comunicadores Boca de Polen in Chiapas, Mexico. He has servedmember of the board of directors of the organization Las Abejas. During 2006 he participated in the workshop Mirado Biónica given by Arcano Catorce in Oaxaca. He has participated in the in the Festival Internacional de Cine y Video de los Pueblos Indígenas in Oaxaca, and in the Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia.

"I became involved because the majority of commercial television programs affect the mind and conscience of indigenous teenagers and children of my community. This prompted me to train in the production of videos that show the culture and wisdom of the older people in my community, in order to help the youth form and maintain healthy and constructive mentalities."
