Marianne Jones (Haida) is a filmmaker, actress, and the creative director of the Vancouver-based Urban Rez Productions, in collaboration with producer Jeff Bear (Maliseet). At the 2001 Banff Television Festival, their work Burnt Church: Obstruction of Justice won the Telefilm/APTN award for best English language production. Jones' ongoing involvement with Haida culture includes Ravens and Eagles, a television series on Haida artists produced by Urban Rez. She has for 20 years been a principal dancer and singer with the Rainbow Creek Dancers, presenting contemporary and traditional Haida performances. Jones also has sewn button blankets and created a Haida bridal headpiece for fashion designer Dorothy Grant. Jones has acted in in films and television, including a nine-season stint on the Canadian television series The Beachcombers.
