Markku Lehmuskallio

Markku Lehmuskallio Finnish filmmaker Markku Lehmuskallio has co-directed films with Anastasia Lapsui since 1993, most often about Arctic indigenous life. Lehmuskallio has received numerous honors for his lyrical films, including the cinematography award at the 2003 Chicago International Doc Film Festival and the Aho & Soldán Lifework Award at the 2002 DocPoint Festival in Helsinki, which presented a retrospective of his work. As a young man Lehmuskallio worked as a forest ranger and logger before making his first documentaries for Finland TV. He is a voting member of the European Film Academy.
