Gordon Tootoosis

Gordon TootoosisActor Gordon Tootoosis (Cree) has played over 45 roles in film and television, including Growling Bear in TNT's Into the West, Floyd in On the Corner, Marvin Fishinghawk in The Doe Boy, and One Stab in Legends of the Fall. He played Albert Golo for five seasons in the popular CBC series North of 60 and Chief Big Bear in the CBC mini-series Big Bear. Tootoosis broke into film in 1972, as the Almighty Voice in Alien Thunder, directed by Claude Fornier and starring Chief Dan George, and has voiced animations including Christmas at Wapos Bay and Pocahontas. A life-long resident of the Poundmaker Cree Nation in Cutknife, Saskatchewan, where he has served on the tribal council, Tootoosis is an accomplished cowboy, and has toured the Americas with the Plains Intertribal Dance Troupe. He was the honorary co-chair of the Regina 2005 Canada Summer Games, and is a sought-after powwow MC and public speaker.
