Divino Tserewahú

Divino TserewahúDivino Tserewahú (Xavante) is from Sangradouro village in the state of Mato Grosso. He has participated in the production of VNA's television program called "Indian Program." His first work for a non-Xavante audience was Thank You, Brother, in which he describes becoming a videomaker. He led the shooting of The Xavante Initiation, a collective production which won awards in several international festivals. Tserewahú has directed two other documentaries about Xavante initiation rituals: Wai´a Rini, the Power of the Dream (2001) and Dariditze/Trainee Healer (2003). In 2002 he reported on the Makuxi's fight for land demarcation in the video The Struggle Goes On!
