"Finding Our Talk: New Zealand Language Nests"

"Finding Our Talk: New Zealand Language Nests"Finding Our Talk: New Zealand Language Nests
(2009, 24 min.) CANADA
Director: Michelle Smith (Métis)

Language nests, an immersive program for babies and young children begun in the 1980s, have been part of the renewal of the Maori people's pride in their history, language, and culture. Key to the program’s success is the involvement of the family, especially the grandparents.
