Carol Cornsilk

October 2006

Carol CornsilkFrom 2000-2004 Carol Cornsilk (Cherokee) served as the director of programming and production for Native American Public Telecommunications. Currently she is an independent producer making films for public television in partnership with Larry Pourier (Lakota). In 2001, she was a participant in the Sundance Institute's Independent Producers Conference in Sundance, Utah. Cornsilk has also served as a reader and panelist for ITVS. She has more than 25 years experience working in public television production, primarily in Nashville, Tennesee and Austin, Texas. Cornsilk was a director of Austin City Limits, the longest running live concert series on American television, during the program's early years. Cornsilk received her BS in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas-Austin. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and lives in Lincoln, Nebraska.
