Native people use the oral tradition of storytelling to teach social values and knowledge of the past. Traditionally, elders pass on lessons of wisdom, history, and origins. Discover how Native people today are exploring new ways to tell their stories, through mediums of film, dance, and visual art.

Stories can come to life in many ways. String figures and designs tell stories, too. Hear a story and then practice making string figures so you can tell your own story, or make a flipbook designed by Native artists.
