Paatuwaqatsi: Water, Land & Life
(2007, 60 min.) US
Director: Victor Masayesva, Jr. (Hopi)

After a tremendous grassroots effort, Hopi and Navajo activists successfully brought a halt to some of Peabody Coal's practices that endangered the region's drinking water. But the termination of coal revenues also led the Hopi people to rediscover the right prayer for hard times: running. This documentary follows an elder and a young who join the 2000-mile run to the 4th World Water Forum in Mexico City in 2006, in order to highlight the issue of water and indigenous people.
