"Newen/Life-Force"The lyrics of hip-hop artist Jennifer Aguilera Silva (Mapuche) urge indigenous people to take pride in their heritage and to fight for autonomy. Performing as JAAS, Aguilera raps in Spanish and Mapudungun. She produces music with La Calle Records, an independent label in Santiago, Chile. Newen/Life Force is her debut music video. She was raised in and lives in San Joaquin, a municipality in the metropolitan area of Santiago, Chile.
