Sergio Julián Caballero

Sergio Julián CaballeroSergio Julián Caballero (Mixtec) is a native mediamaker from Oaxaca, Mexico, specialized in video and web technology. He has been closely involved in video and media training and production programs in indigenous communities in Oaxaca. As a member of Ojo de Agua Comunicación, he has edited and post-produced a great amount of works from Native communities in the region. He has expanded his editing skills to the use of digital media, designing webpages for social and indigenous organizations in Oaxaca, which are harbored by La Neta, a national ISP. He has developed Ojo de Agua Comunicación's website (www.laneta.apc.org/ojodeagua), among others.

In March of 2003, he was awarded a three-week residency at the Film and Video Center as a Visiting Professional, a program of the Museum's Community Services Department. In April of the same year, he participated as tour documenter on Video México Indígena/Video Native Mexico.
