Lorne
Olson (Ojibwe) directed Apples & Indians
through First Stories, a competitive documentary production program
coordinated by the NFB Prairie Centre. He has worked as a locations
production assistant on Mark Mylod's The Big White and
various television movies. Olson has worked on APTN programs:
as a production manager for La Voix de Mechif, as a researcher
for National News, and as an assistant editor for The
Sharing Circle. He is a former member of Spirit Song Native
Theater Company. He has served as the project manager of Pender
Street Housing Project of United Native Nations Local 111 in Vancouver,
British Columbia. Olson trained in production and broadcasting
through the Aboriginal Broadcast Training Initiative of the Manitoba
Indian Cultural Education Centre, and at Vancouver Film School.
He grew up on Brokenhead First Nation and lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
