Divino
Tserewahú (Xavante) is from Sangradouro village
in the state of Mato Grosso. He has participated in the production
of VNA's television program called "Indian Program."
His first work for a non-Xavante audience was Thank You, Brother,
in which he describes becoming a videomaker. He led the shooting
of The Xavante Initiation, a collective production which
won awards in several international festivals. Tserewahú
has directed two other documentaries about Xavante initiation
rituals: Wai´a Rini, the Power of the Dream (2001)
and Dariditze/Trainee Healer (2003). In 2002 he reported
on the Makuxi's fight for land demarcation in the video The
Struggle Goes On!
